Tata group to pay full salary to daily workers affected by coronavirus, Pune plant to close from March 24
- Daily workers of all Tata group companies will get salary in March and April
- The dues of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will be paid immediately.
The Tata group has taken a big decision in view of the rising outbreak of Corona virus. The Tata group has said that temporary workers and daily workers affected by plant failure due to coronavirus or affected by plant closure will be paid full wages. This decision will apply to temporary employees and daily workers of all Tata Group companies. Under this decision, temporary employees and daily workers will be given full pay for the months of March and April. In a statement issued by Tata Sons Pvt Ltd, Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced the measures, saying that the situation arising out of Corona would have a bad economic impact on the weaker sections of the society.
MSME will get the outstanding payment immediately
Tata Sons has said in its statement that it has asked all group companies to immediately pay the dues of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to avoid cash shortage. In the statement, Chandrasekaran said that all the companies of the Tata group have been asked to take utmost care. Chandrasekaran said that we are increasingly asking the employees for work from home. We are ensuring that only employees employed in essential services travel. He said that these are difficult and uncertain times and the nation needs our collective efforts. Every day matters to us in the fight against this disease.
Tata Motors Pune plant will be closed
Due to the rapid spread of coronavirus in Maharashtra, Tata Motors Limited has decided to close the Pune plant. In a statement issued late Friday by the company, it said that all types of activities will be stopped at the Pune plant by Monday 23 March and the plant will be closed from Tuesday 24 March. The company said that the plant is currently being closed by 31 March. Later we will take stock of the situation.
JLR will stop production temporarily
Tata Motors Limited-owned Jaguar Land Rover Ltd (JLR) on Friday said it would temporarily cease production at all its manufacturing plants in the UK. The company said it decided to temporarily shut down production to protect its workers from coronavirus outbreaks. JLR said that production in Brazil and India plants will continue as before. The company has said that it will start production from April 20 after looking at the conditions. After improving the conditions, JLR has started its China plant from 24 March.
