TartanSense Secures Rs 15 crore from Blume Ventures

TartanSense which is an agriculture robotics startup has now secured Rs 15 crore from the Blume Ventures, Omnivore Partners, and BEENEXT. Some other investors include the Co-founder of AI startup Vicarious, GreyOrange Co-Founder, Featherlite co-founder.
TartanSense is developing robots for the purpose of the small farms, using the AI-assisted computer visions and robotics to build the precision sprayers. These tools can even detect the diseased weeds and plants which helps to save costs and leaving less chemical residue on the vegetable and fruits consumed.
“We are democratizing technology to small farm holders that have historically been available to large farms in the west by focusing on affordability and portability,” said Jaisimha Rao, Founder, and CEO of TartanSense, adding that the business has the ability to improve farmer economics by as much as 10 times.
The firm has a plans to use the capital to scale up its first product BrijBot, which is a weed spraying robotic solution for the smallholder cotton farmers, that also has an aim to reduce the weeding costs by around 70%.
