Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone Will Be a Tablet, Confirms CEO DJ Koh

Samsung’s foldable phone has been a part of rumors for quite some time now. Recently, the Samsung CEO, DJ Koh has announced that the hotly-anticipated handset may soon become a reality, probably, by the end of November this year.
Today, in a report, he has confirmed that Samsung’s foldable device is going to be a tablet, that can easily fold into a smartphone and fit into a pocket. With the help of this feature, users will be able to do multitasking with the device along with easy portability.
Koh also said that the foldable smartphone would not be going to be just a “gimmick product” that will soon “disappear after six to nine months after it is delivered.”
He also revealed that the smartphone would be available across the globe, unlike the Galaxy Round, which was only available in its home country. The Galaxy Round is the smartphone that features a curved display.
As of now, Koh has not revealed any specifications about the display of the foldable phone but has expressed his opinion that a larger screen is essential for smartphones.
Koh is quite hopeful about the prospects of the handset and said, “Possibly when we start selling the foldable phone, it may be a niche market, but definitely, it will expand.” He continued, “I’m positive that we do need a foldable phone.”
