Samsung launches Series 7 processor – Exynos 7904 for mid-range smartphones

Samsung has launched a new Series 7 processor for mid-range smartphones – Exynos 7904. It is an octa-core processor. The new processor is built on 14 nm design.

The Exynos 7904 has two Cortex®-A73 cores and six Cortex®-A53 cores. The Cortex®-A73 cores are clocked at 1.8-gigahertz (GHz) and Cortex®-A53 clocked at 1.6-gigahertz (GHz).
The processor has Mali-G71 MP2 GPU for graphical tasks. The embedded LTE modem supports Cat.12 3-carrier aggregation (CA) for 600-magbits-per-second (Mbps) downlink speed.

The Exynos 7 Series 7904 will enable advanced mobile experiences in a broader range of devices with triple-camera support, powerful performance and connectivity.”
The Exynos 7904 supports eMMC 5.1 storage and LPDDR4x RAM. The processor supports a single 32 MP camera or a dual 16MP+16MP camera.
The processor supports video recording of upto 4k at 30 fps. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth® 5.0.
Samsung has used 4-mode GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite system) in Exynos 7904 to achieve positioning accuracy.
