OnMobile Acquires Swedish Gaming Platform Appland

OnMobile, a Bangalore based mobile value-added services company, today, in a report, has announced that it has acquired Sweden-based mobile app distribution startup, Appland AP, in an all-cash deal.
According to a report, the deal is not likely to exceed $15 million. This acquisition will help OnMobile to expand its business in the area of mobile game subscription, by leveraging different sets of technology capability with its new network.
After the deal, Jonatan Redvik, the Co-founder and CEO of Appland, will be going to head OnMobile’s new games business units as a VP. On the other hand, Henrik Lewander, another Co-founder will be holding the post of the CTO.
Appland which was founded by the Lewander and Redvik in the year 2011, provides cloud-based mobile distribution and monetization services. It gives white label app stores to mobile experts and mobile manufacturers.
The company also works in the field of games, kids & apps club, and app subscription. According to the claims made by the company, it has installed its solutions on more than 10 million devices across 200 countries.
Some of the prominent clients of Appland include Vodafone, Reliance Jio, and Ericsson. In May 2014, Appland raised an amount of $1.1 in seed funding.
