India’s live events sector is gradually making a comeback to pre-COVID levels, with multiple ticketed events being organized in the entertainment space. Although corporate events have not yet regained the same level of momentum, weddings, government events, launches, and ticketed events are experiencing a full recovery. This rebound in the live events industry comes after it was severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts in the industry note that while certain segments like corporate events may not have fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, sectors such as weddings and government launches have provided substantial work opportunities for those involved in the live events sector since October of the previous year. The pandemic had a significant impact on the live events industry, leading to cancellations and postponements of various events.

According to a previous Mint report, the organized events and activations industry in India is valued at around ₹10,000 crore. When considering the unorganized segment as well, the industry’s size could reach up to ₹5 trillion. As the sector continues to adapt and evolve in the post-pandemic landscape, the recovery in ticketed events, weddings, and government-related events indicates a positive trajectory for the industry’s growth and revival.
