Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will launch the new 2019 C-Class sedan in India on September 20. The sedan made its global debut at the Geneva Motor show earlier this year with basic cosmetic changes and a new set of engines.
The new C-Class has similar exterior design as the outgoing model except for some minor tweaks like a slightly redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, LED headlamps and DRLs, and LED taillamps at the back.
Inside the cabin, the facelift gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a 10.25-inch high-resolution display for Merc’s COMAND infotainment system. It also gets an all-new steering wheel with dual touchpad control system already seen on the E-class and the new S-Class.

The big change in the C-class is under the hood. Starting from the petrol version, a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine will replace the old 2.0-liter motor with the same power output of 184hp. The new engine will produce max torque of 280Nm which is about 20Nm drop from the old one.
In the diesel, a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will power the C 220d and C 300d variants. The engine will be tuned to churn out different power in both variants at 194hp and 245hp respectively. Note that the C 300d is a new variant in the lineup which will replace the old C 250d.  The facelift will also get a new 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox in place of the current 7G-Tronic.
With the new model coming in, the C-Class may see a price hike than the current version. Currently, the C-Class sedan is priced between ₹ 39.9 lakh to ₹ 45.41 lakh (ex-showroom).
