Investor sentiment soared as the shares of Global Health, the operator of the Medanta hospital chain, surged more than 2 percent in early trading on August 11. The market responded enthusiastically to the company’s remarkable performance during the April-June quarter.

Global Health’s financial report for the period ended June 30, released on August 10, revealed a striking 73.75 percent year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 102.01 crore. The company’s revenue exhibited robust growth as well, witnessing an impressive 25.28 percent year-on-year increase to Rs 773 crore.

The revenue distribution for developing hospitals, including Medanta Lucknow and Patna, witnessed a notable increase, reaching 28.9 percent compared to 23.4 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year. Notably, revenue from international patients experienced a substantial surge of 45 percent, reaching Rs 47.7 crore. This growth was attributed to an increase in both patient volume and realization.

A key growth metric, the Average Revenue Per Occupied Bed (ARPOB), demonstrated a healthy 7.1 percent year-on-year growth, amounting to Rs 63,148.

As of 9:19 am, Global Health’s stock was trading at Rs 701.05 on the National Stock Exchange, reflecting a 1.6 percent increase from the previous close. This positive market response indicates investor confidence in the company’s financial performance and strategic initiatives.

In addition to its strong financial performance, Global Health’s operational efficiency also witnessed enhancement, with the EBITDA margin expanding to 25.1 percent from 22.6 percent in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
