ALERT! Indian Government Bans 43 Mobile Apps! Here’s The Complete List
The MEITY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) issued an order on November 24 to prohibit access to 43 mobile applications in India.
The order has issued in accordance with section 69A of the ITA (Information Technology Act).
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said in a press release: These actions are taken on the basis of the input of these applications for engaging in illegal activities which are prejudicial to India’s sovereignty and integrity, India’s defense, the national security, and public order.
The decision to ban the use of these apps is based on a comprehensive report provided by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center, Ministry of Home Affairs.
On June 29, the Indian government blocked access to more than 50 mobile applications and blocked access to another 118 applications on September 2 this year.
