Florida Influencer And ‘Dog Mom’ Films Herself Having Sex With Pet Chihuahua. Why Is Zoophilia Or Bestiality On The Rise, And Is It A Mental Disorder?

Zoophilia or Bestiality, taboo as it may be, sexual crimes against animals are definitely not just isolated incidents. They range from individual pet owners abusing their animals behind closed doors to full-blown underground bestiality rings operating in secret. And now, the internet has made it easier than ever for such depravity to spread.

The latest case is that of a Florida influencer and self-proclaimed “dog mom” who filmed herself having sex with her pet Chihuahua – yes, really – and then posted the disturbing footage on Instagram.

Logan Guminski, 27, from Ocala, Marion County, allegedly shared the horrifying clips with her 15,000 Instagram followers before authorities caught wind of it. She was arrested on March 21 and hit with two felony charges: sexual activity involving an animal and filming sexual activity involving an animal, according to a statement from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Cops were tipped off in January when someone anonymously reported that Guminski had posted a video of herself engaged in sexual activity with a dog. Detective, who handled the case, dug deeper and uncovered multiple photos and videos featuring Guminski and the abused animal. Evidence confirmed she was the person in the videos.

And it gets worse.

During questioning, Guminski admitted that she was not only some casual pet abuser – this was a business. She described herself as a “content creator” who sells explicit photos and videos online, and she confessed to making and sharing the video for $500 after a social media user specifically requested it. She also admitted to engaging in sexual activity with another dog, with videos of both incidents still stored on her phone.

Shockingly, even as she posted this twisted content, her Instagram was full of wholesome-looking posts – her cuddling, kissing, and adoring her dogs. In one clip, she used a trending filter meant to “show what your man looks like,” only for a picture of a dog to appear. “What can I say… they are quite literally my whole world,” she had captioned it, just days before her arrest.

Even more disturbing is that she apparently got a new dog just two days before she was arrested.

Released on a $10,000 bond on March 22, Guminski is now awaiting her day in court, with an arraignment hearing set for April 22.

Zoophilia
Confessions of rapist surgeon shock France –  pedophilia, zoophilia and incest

Here is yet another disturbing case from France – Joël Le Scouarnec was sentenced in 2020 to 15 years in prison for raping two nieces and a 6-year-old neighbour, and sexually abusing 300 patients over nearly three decades, the retired surgeon would spend much of his remaining life in prison.

Perhaps that is why Le Scouarnec took advantage of his questioning at the trial to admit everything, to shamelessly explain all his sexual deviations without sparing any detail. During the statement, the accused was questioned about his sexual practices, which range from paedophilia to zoophilia and violence. Of the 51,000 photographs that the police found on his computer, there were 8,000 documents of zoophilia and 5,000 of violent sexual acts.

“I was constantly transgressing. I did not prohibit myself from anything. That is what made me interested in zoophilia. First through images, then through actions carried out by myself,” he said

Bestiality, A Disturbing Crime That’s On The Rise

Bestiality, defined as sexual interaction between humans and animals, remains a deeply troubling act that raises both animal welfare and human psychological concerns. While some perpetrators exhibit emotional attachment to animals (zoophilia), others engage in violent sexual abuse that often results in severe harm or death to the animal.

The connection between bestiality and violent crimes against humans is well-documented. Studies indicate that individuals who harm animals are significantly more likely to commit violent offenses against peopleSerial killers, child abusers, and rapists often have histories of animal cruelty.

In India, recent cases, including the gang rape of a pregnant goat in Haryana and a West Bengal man’s arrest for sexually assaulting a stray dog, indicating the urgent need for stringent laws.

Under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, bestiality is a punishable offense, serving as a critical legal safeguard for animals. While the debate over decriminalizing consensual same-sex relationships has gained momentum, animal rights activists insist that protections against bestiality must remain intact.

Organizations like PETA India urge the government to ensure that legal reforms uphold the criminalization of such acts, given their direct link to broader violent behavior.

Globally, most Western nations, including Australia, the U.S., and European countries, strictly criminalize bestiality. Studies from the U.S. have found that nearly all individuals convicted of animal sexual abuse have also committed sexual crimes against humans.

Why Would Anyone Engage in Bestiality? The Psychology Behind It

The question of why a human would seek sexual gratification with an animal is perplexing. Historically, bestiality was often dismissed as an act of desperation in situations where human sexual partners were unavailable, particularly in isolated rural communities. However, modern research contradicts this assumption.

Studies indicate that a significant percentage of zoophiles prefer sexual relationships with animals not due to a lack of human partners but because of a distinct sexual preference.

Dr. Alfred Kinsey’s controversial research in the 1950s revealed that 8% of males and 4% of females had at least one sexual experience with an animal, with the rates being much higher in farm-based communities.

More recent studies, such as Dr. Hani Miletski’s research on 93 self-identified zoophiles, found that the majority of individuals engaging in bestiality did so out of sexual attraction and emotional connection to animals rather than as a substitute for human partners. Alarmingly, many participants in these studies expressed no desire to stop their activities, indicating a deeply ingrained psychological inclination.

The advent of the internet has further worsened this issue. Online communities, such as the now-defunct Beast Forum, have provided a platform for zoophiles to connect, share experiences, and normalize their behavior. This has led to the disturbing reality that bestiality is no longer confined to isolated rural settings but has become a global phenomenon with organized networks dedicated to it.

The Link Between Bestiality and Violent Crimes

There is overwhelming evidence that individuals who engage in bestiality are far more likely to commit violent crimes against humans. Studies in the U.S. have found that people convicted of bestiality are significantly more likely to commit sexual offenses against children and engage in other violent crimes.

The infamous case of Ameerul Islam, the convicted rapist and murderer in Kerala’s Jisha case, revealed his history of raping and killing dogs and goats before he targeted human victims. Similarly, American criminal Jerry Cook was convicted of animal cruelty and sexual assault after raping and killing a dog and attacking a human.

A 21-year-long study found that 70% of individuals who abused animals later committed other crimes, with two-thirds also assaulting humans. The progression from animal abuse to crimes against people is well-documented, making bestiality not just an animal welfare issue but a critical public safety concern.

The Global Legal Parameter

Many Western countries have stringent laws against bestiality. Denmark, once infamous for its “animal sex tourism,” criminalized bestiality in 2015 to prevent further exploitation of animals. The U.S. lacks a federal law on zoophilia, but most states classify it as either a felony or misdemeanor, with varying degrees of punishment. However, some states, including Texas, Nevada, and New Mexico, still have legal loopholes that allow bestiality.

Shockingly, several countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, Finland, Hungary, and Romania, still have no laws against bestiality, making them hotspots for animal sex tourism.

Animal rights activists stress that bestiality is inherently abusive, regardless of whether an animal shows resistance. The absence of consent and the severe physical and psychological trauma inflicted on animals make it a grave offense.

The global trend toward criminalizing bestiality should serve as a wake-up call for India too to tighten its laws, increase penalties, and ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted with the severity they deserve.

Types Of Bestiality

Human-animal role-players – those who never have sex with animals but become sexually aroused through wanting to have sex with humans who pretend to be animals.

-Romantic zoophiles – those who keeps animals as pets as a way to get psychosexually stimulated without actually having any kind of sexual contact with them.

Zoophilic fantasizers – those who fantasise about having sexual intercourse with animals but never actually do.

Tactile zoophiles – those who get sexual excitement from touching, stroking or fondling animals or their genitals but do not actually have sexual intercourse with animals.

-Fetishistic zoophiles – those who keep various animal parts (especially fur) that are used as erotic stimuli as a crucial part of their sexual activity (typically masturbation).

–Sadistic bestials – those who derive sexual arousal from the torturing of animals (known as zoosadism) but does not involve sexual intercourse with the animal.

-Opportunistic zoosexuals – those who have normal sexual encounters but would have sexual intercourse with animals if the opportunity arose.

-Regular zoosexuals – those who prefer sex with animals than sex with humans (but are capable of having sex with both). Such zoophiles will engage in a wide range of sexual activities with animals and love animals on an emotional level.

Homicidal bestials – those who need to kill animals in order to have sex with them. Although capable of having sex with living animals, there is an insatiable desire to have sex with dead animals.

Exclusive zoosexuals – those who only have sex with animals to the exclusion of human sexual partners.

Many zoophiles believe that in years to come, their sexual preference will be seen as no different to being gay or straight. However, this view is flawed, especially because animals cannot give consent (although many zoophiles claim the animals they have sexual relationships with do give ‘consent’).

The one thing we do know is that the internet has revolutionised the way we carry out our research and get access to ‘hard to reach’ groups. Thanks to online research, zoophilia is just one of many sexually atypical behaviours that we now know more about both behaviourally and psychologically.

The Last Bit

Bestiality is more than an animal rights issue, it is a marker of deeper psychological disturbances that often manifest in broader criminal behavior and the legal system must recognize this reality and enforce strict measures to combat it.

Protecting animals from sexual abuse is not only a moral obligation but a necessary step in safeguarding society from individuals who may later pose a threat to human lives as well.
