The government has changed the withdrawal provisions from the provident fund in view of the corona epidemic. Employees can withdraw equal to three months salary or 75 percent of the total deposits, whichever is less. In such cases a gap of three years in the date of birth of the shareholder is being accepted.

PF members will be able to fix the date of birth in EPFO

The EPFO has issued revised instructions to its regional offices to increase the availability and access of online facilities in the wake of the Corona epidemic. According to them, PF members have been provided with the facility to update their date of birth in EPFO records. So that their UAN can be ensured with KYC.

EPFO Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner said that the date of birth recorded in Aadhar will now be accepted as a valid proof of date of birth for the purpose of correction. Provided that the difference between the two dates is less than 03 years. PF members can submit correction requests online. He informed that in this situation EPFO will be able to verify the date of birth of members with UIDAI immediately. This will reduce the time taken to process requests received for improvement.

The EPFO Headquarters has directed the Regional Offices to expedite the disposal of requests received from the PF members in the financial crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and to provide non-refundable advances from their provident funds.
