Corona virus: Medical facilities in states are insufficient, revealed in the report prepared by 410 IAS officers

The government of the Center and states are making every effort to deal with the increasing cases of corona in the country. Meanwhile, a feedback survey report has been prepared by 410 young IAS officers of the country. This survey report has been released by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of North Eastern Region Development, Prime Minister’s Office, Department of Atomic Energy and Minister of State for Space. In this, the DARPG has shared the sayings on behalf of 410 District Collectors and other IAS officers (batch 2014-2018) and the general public posted in different parts of the country through a portal.

The same common problem: lack of medical facilities and resources

It has been found in the survey that all the states lack medical facilities and resources. Also, there has been a shortage of trained health officers and paramedical staff. More than 71 percent of people have expressed their disagreement on the question of an adequate number of ventilators available.

Apart from this, more than 47 percent of people have reported their lack of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and 59 percent for ICU beds. In the case of isolation beds, only 28 percent have reported its deficiency. Apart from these, many other problems have also come up in various states.

Maharashtra: Traffic between Mumbai-Pune could not stop, testing center reduced

The tribal areas like Pahalgarh have negligible medical facilities and basic facilities are not available in this area. IAS officials have said that if the movement between Pune and Mumbai were completely halted during the lockdown period, the corona infection would not have spread that much.

Delay at the navigation checkpoint of the interstate border is disrupting the supply of essential goods. The biggest drawback observed in the entire state has been the testing center.

Gujarat: lakhs of people entered Bhavnagar in two weeks

Due to Corona in this state, many people are moving out of the cities and going towards the villages. This has increased the risk of infection. In such a situation, it becomes difficult to follow rules like lockdown and social distancing.

It has become a major challenge to stop outsiders from coming to areas like Banaskantha. At the same time, the entry of two lakh migrant people in Bhavnagar during the last two weeks is found. 

The union territories also do not have adequate facilities

A big thing has come to light in South Delhi’s investigation of Corona. The report here suggests that doctors should test the corona as much as possible. There is a severe shortage of resources in Daman and Diu.

There is a shortage of drug supply in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to the geographical design of Lakshadweep, the supply of essential goods and medical equipment is being disrupted.

Such is the situation in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Jharkhand … 

It has been difficult to identify foreigners coming from the Telangana border in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. It is also not easy to isolate them. A very strange situation has been seen in Dumka, Jharkhand. There are ventilators here, but they cannot be operated due to a lack of anesthetic.

A major shortage of infrared thermometers has been reported in Samastipur in Bihar. It is a distant thing to have medical facilities in Nawada, there are no sanitizers available. Doctors in Patna, Bihar’s capital, have complained that they lack surgical gloves, oxygen cylinders, oxygen regulators and disinfectants.

Northeast: Shortage of medical staff and ambulances

In the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, people are facing many problems. The adjacent Corona Testing Center of this district is located in Dibrugarh. The survey report says that there is a shortage of medical staff and ambulances in the entire Northeast.

All these are the major problems being faced and all these signs towards lack of medical facilities and resources.
