Check Out These Things Before Buying iQOO Neo 7
The iQOO Neo 7 can be a worthy choice if you want a gaming phone under Rs 30,000 with reliable performance and a functional design.
Check Out These Things Before Buying iQOO Neo 7
A significant selling point of the iQOO Neo 7 is its performance. When it comes to gaming, it’s a great choice!
With the Phone, you can play Call of Duty Mobile at 90 frames per second and handle heavy workloads for long periods. COD Mobile was playable for about 45 minutes without experiencing any frame drops.
The Density 8200, which powers the device, does not outperform the Snapper 8 Gen 1 or the Mighty 8 Gen 2 in gaming performance.
Display And Camera
There are better displays on a smartphone, but the display on the iQOO Neo 7 is still one of the best. Featuring rich blacks thanks to the 120Hz AMOLED panel, as well as great viewing angles, this display is quite attractive.
The brand claims that the outdoor brightness of the display will reach 1300 Nits. My favourite features on the tablet are the slim bezels and the flat display.
The stereo separation, mids and lows, could be better, despite having a speaker in each ear and another at the bottom. There is enough volume, but the speakers aren’t crisp. Regarding gaming, the speakers were not much of an issue, as I could hear the footsteps in games clearly.
As well as call quality, it was excellent. Despite my poor hearing, I could hear the other person clearly, and they said I sounded good. There are no problems here, so no worries.
A 64MP primary sensor and a secondary bokeh sensor comprise the back camera setup on the iQOO Neo 7. Despite the iQOO Neo 7’s fewer lenses (the Neo 6 had both wide-angle and ultrawide-angle lenses), its primary camera produces good image quality for its price.
HDR is balanced in most cases, and highlight roll-off is effective. The details were similar to the Samsung Galaxy S23, which is much more expensive.
In artificial lighting, the photos are also sharp. However, the video in 4K30 could be more impressive. In addition to lacking detail, it must be more balanced and robust.
Its 16MP front camera will appeal to those who take selfies casually, but you only need it if you want natural shots with extra beautification and skin smoothing. In Portrait mode, it adds a layer of sharpening, which is not very attractive.
The Phone seems fine as long as users don’t mind skin smoothening or even prefer it. There were no significant issues with the battery on the iQOO Neo 7. In addition to its long standby time, the Phone can last almost a day and a half when used heavily.
The Phone has a 120W fast charger that lets you charge it quickly if the battery gets low. It took less than 30 minutes for me to set it from 10% to full. When off the charger for about a day and a half, the screen stayed on for about 7.5 hours. It is the way iQOO has optimized the Dimensity 8200 here that contributes to good battery life.
Design & Software
A phone around Rs 30,000 does not feel very premium, but is that an issue? If you want a functional gaming phone, it would be best not to let the design stop you. The iQOO Neo 7 is unsuitable if you prefer premium materials like metal and glass.
Despite being made of plastic, the matte finish prevents fingerprints and feels like glass. As well as being easy to maintain, it is not susceptible to damage. There are no deep scratches on either the display glass or the back of the device.
Even though I started the review period with a bias against iQOO’s Funtouch OS, which is based on Android 13, my opinion has changed. iQOO has added some ‘fun’ touches, particularly its gaming features.
With features like the Ultra Game Mode, where you can optimize frame rates, minimize disruptions, and customize the touchscreen animations, ambient light effects, and charging animations, the iQOO Neo 7 is an Android power user’s dream.
I believe enthusiasts will enjoy all the features, even if I don’t need them. The pre-installed apps, such as Byjus, are something I dislike about the software experience. Uninstalling the apps is possible, and we strongly recommend you do so. Please remove these apps from iQOO.
Gaming performance is the main focus of the iQOO Neo 7, and it does it very well. It features a fast and reliable processor, a smooth display, a decent camera, and a powerful battery that lasts long and charges quickly.
For its price, it makes a reasonable compromise on premium design, sound quality, and camera versatility. In terms of gaming phones under 30,000 rupees, the iQOO Neo 7 is quite good.
