BMW launches iX1 xDrive30, their first fully electric SUV
BMW has introduced the iX1 xDrive30, an all-electric SUV model, with a starting price of Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric SUV is based on the popular BMW X1 and is now available in a single-trim option. Customers can expect deliveries of this new BMW electric SUV to commence in October.
Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, commented on the launch, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. He noted that BMW Group India has been proactive in its electric mobility initiatives, and the electrification of the BMW X1 marks another significant step in this direction.
What sets this model apart is that it becomes the first Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in its segment to offer customers a choice among various powertrains, including petrol, diesel, and electric. This “Power of Choice” approach underscores BMW’s commitment to catering to diverse customer preferences and needs in the Indian market.
Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, highlighted the company’s commitment to accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in the market. He mentioned that every BMW electric car purchase includes a complimentary wall box charger, making it more convenient for customers to charge their electric vehicles at home. Furthermore, BMW has extended 24×7 access to its fast charging network in 35 cities to customers of other brands, demonstrating a commitment to supporting electric adoption across the industry.
Pawah emphasized that BMW’s strategy involves carefully expanding its electric vehicle range with well-thought-out and innovative products like the first fully electric BMW iX1. This approach is designed to cater to the evolving needs and preferences of Indian consumers while contributing to the growth of electric mobility in the country.
Regarding the BMW iX1, customers have a range of choices for personalization. The vehicle is available in one non-metallic paint variant, Alpine White, and three metallic paint variants, including Space Silver, Black Sapphire, and Storm Bay. Additionally, customers can choose from different upholstery options, such as Veganza Perforated Mocha and Veganza Perforated Oyster, allowing for a level of customization and personalization to suit individual tastes and preferences.
The new BMW iX1 offers a convenient and efficient charging experience. It takes just 29 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent using the 130 kW DC Charger. With the 11 kW AC Charger, it also takes 29 minutes to go from 10 percent to 80 percent, adding approximately 120 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes. For a full charge from zero to 100 percent, it takes approximately 6.3 hours using standard charging methods.
In terms of warranty coverage, the first fully electric BMW iX1 comes with a standard two-year warranty for an unlimited number of kilometers, inclusive of repair services. Customers can also choose to extend their warranty benefits from the third year of operation up to a maximum of five years, without any mileage limitation. Additionally, the batteries are covered by a warranty that is valid for eight years or up to 160,000 kilometers, providing peace of mind to customers regarding the durability and reliability of the electric vehicle’s power source.
BMW India Financial Services has introduced a comprehensive package tailored specifically for the electric BMW iX1, encompassing financing, insurance, and vehicle services. This all-inclusive offering has been designed to cater to the unique requirements of electric vehicle owners. Notable features of this package include the option for customers to secure 100% financing for accessories, allowing them to customize their BMW iX1 according to their preferences.
Additionally, customers will benefit from a complimentary five-year roadside assistance plan, providing them with peace of mind while on the road, complete with facilities such as portable roadside charging. Furthermore, attractive offers for trade-ins or vehicle upgrades are also on the table, offering customers a seamless and appealing path to experience the BMW iX1 and its advanced electric technology.
