Yes, its official, PM Narendra Modi has become the most followed active politician on Twitter, this after the outgoing President Donald Trump’s account was permanently suspended by Twitter.

The outgoing President of the United States was very active, and his favorite tool was Twitter, the favored megaphone; however, his account was permanently suspended by Twitter on Friday.
In its statement, Twitter’s permanent ban of President Trump from its services was “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”

The move would mean that President Trump would no longer be able to express his “views” and “Opinions” and reach out to his supporters and the public, having capped a series of actions by mainstream sites to limit his online reach.

With 88 million followers on Twitter, he was both popular and perhaps also the most scandalous when it came to expressing his views.

Twitter, on its part, shut down his account based on two of his tweets that he had posted on Friday – one that lauded and called his supporters “patriots,” while another saying that he would not be attending the presidential inauguration on Jan 20, 2021 – which according to Twitter violated its rules of glorifying violence.

Mr. Trump was a regular on Twitter and tweeted multiple times during the day, with his most favorite time of the day being early morning or late evenings.

Mr. Trump was perhaps one of the only few Political figures who used the platform to form strong and faithful followers, build and expand his base, and spread his viewpoints via his tweets, which seldom bordered on agitation and even threats.

Mr. Trump is unique in his personality; the 45th and the current President of the United States, before he entered politics, was a hardcore businessman and a television personality.
Who can forget his famous “The Apprentice,” which was lapped up by millions as a cue and almost a guide textbook to make it in the cutting competitive corporate world.

However, the latest outing wherein he supported his followers and almost encouraged them to storm the Capitol was the last and final straw that was not acceptable to those who saw him as nearly cynical in his views, statements, and governing President.
When Mr. Trump came to power, many believed that he would usher in accountability and a kind of governance expected by a particular corporate head or CEO. Though what came in was somewhat akin to a dictatorship, a strong-headed individual can only be termed as a populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist, as mentioned by a few.
