Zomato, TrulyMadly, TripAdvisor claim Facebook hack didn’t impact them

The latest Facebook data breach that led to about 50 million accounts getting exposed to hackers, did not impact the third-party apps such as Zomato, TripAdvisor and Trulymadly.
All the above mentioned firms confirmed that they have no evidence that any of its user information has been affected or compromised.
Facebook’s single sign-on feature allows users to log into third-party apps such as Zomato, BigBasket, Hotstar, Tinder, Nykaa, SonyLIV, RentoMojo, FreshMenu, Chai Point, Quora, Snapchat, HealthifyMe, and Dominos, among others.
On Tuesday, Facebook had issued an update after it was flooded with queries about what exactly this attack means for the apps using the Facebook Login.
“We have now analyzed our logs for all third-party apps installed or logged in during the attack we discovered last week. That investigation has so far found no evidence that the attackers accessed any apps using Facebook Login,” said Guy Rosen, VP of Product Management in a FB blog.
The social networking site further said that it has fixed the vulnerability and reset the access tokens for a total of 90 million accounts — 50 million that had access tokens stolen and 40 million that were subject to a “View As” look-up in the last year.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a post said that engineers discovered the breach and had a patch in place two days later.
Last week on Friday, almost 50 million Facebook users reported to be hacked, have been logged out of the platform. Attackers exploit a bug in view as the feature.
Initial probe reveals that tokens were used to access accounts. Hackers also attempted to access profile information.
There have been no broad details offered by Facebook on what kind of data could have been compromised from third-party apps.
