Breaking News: Tamil Nadu will never ever Implement the Three-language Policy, CM Palaniswami Stated!
On July 29, the Cabinet gave its approval to the National Education Policy. Therefore, the Human Resource Development Ministry has been renamed as the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar stated that education policy has changed after 34 years. This is a historic moment.
The National Education Plan recommends extensive changes to the educational system, not just in India. It also wants self-sufficient and an adequate autochthonous ranking arrangement for national educational institutes.
K Palaniswami, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has taken a hard decision on the new education policy of the center. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami declared that he would not implement a trilingualism formula in his state. Palaniswami also cited opposition to the Hindi language on behalf of the late chief Ministers Anna Durai, MGR and Jayalalithaa.
Chief Minister Palaniswami has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider the plan. Palaniswami also stated in a statement that the trilingual formula is tragic and painful. He proclaimed that Tamil Nadu has provision for the first two languages (Tamil and English) and there will be no changes in it. I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider this decision. States must be given the freedom to execute it in accordance with their policies.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the anti-Hindi tumult organized by Tamil Nadu students in the 1965 year. At that time, Congress recommended making Hindi the official language of the nation. Although the state relies on which languages it will introduce in the three-language scheme, Tamil Nadu observes it as a sharp endeavor to impose Hindi by the center.
The common sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu and political parties, including AIADMK, are only to follow the bilingual policy. It is painful and sad to know the formula of these trilingual languages is part of the new national education policy issued by the center, Mr. Paraniswami said.

If the Tamil language or the interests of the Tamil people are influenced and concerned, then this government will take immediate measures, said the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Coordinator of all India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). Mr. Palaniswami also mentioned that his government had opposed the trilingual system when the NEP draft was published.
Centre alleviates concerns over National Education Policy
The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank wrote on Twitter on Sunday that “I once again insist that the central government of the country will not inflict any language on any state.”
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhralaya Nishank also tweeted that the center will not inflict any language constraints on any state. Minister Nishank also stated that he awaited the guidance of the former Union minister to execute the new education policy in Tamil Nadu.
Political rage over National Educational Political
Earlier, the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party led by MK and several opposition parties opposed the new education policy and requested further deliberation of its proposal. On Saturday, the DMK head stated that through this policy, he is working on the unlawful usage of Hindi and Sanskrit in non-Indian states.
DMK leaders stated that this new change is not actually a new education policy, but a shining cloak of the old oppressive Manusmriti.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President Stalin (MK Stalin) earlier questioned the center over the new education policy, saying it is an endeavor to impose Hindi and Sanskrit.
CPI assumes that the new education policy will deprive access to education to disadvantaged and impoverished social groups of society. One of the ministers said that we cannot accept this new education policy. It has not properly discussed in parliament. It has not properly discussed with the state government as well, after all the education is listed in the parallel list. It is an assault on the federal polity of our country.
