The outbreak of flood in the state is increasing continuously. As of Monday evening, 765 panchayats of 93 blocks of 11 districts of the state were flooded. Due to this, the population of 24 lakh 42 thousand has been affected by the floods. On Monday, food packets were made available to flood victims in East Champaran, Darbhanga, and Gopalganj via helicopter.
Ramachandrudu, Additional Secretary, Department of Disaster Management gave this information at the press conference. He said that 703 community kitchens are being run in various districts for flood victims. Every day a quarter to three lakh people are being served food. 29 relief camps have also been set up in the state, where around 13 thousand people have been kept. Additional Secretary said that eight people have died in the state so far due to floods.

According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, in 15 district Red Zone of North Bihar heavy rain is expected in the catchment area of North Bihar and Nepal till August 1. Already, seven rivers are flowing above the danger mark at 24 renegade sites in 15 districts in North Bihar. In such a situation, if there is more rain in Nepal, then the crisis will increase further from Gopalganj to Katihar in North Bihar. There is already heavy pressure on the embankment of about two dozen places in these seven rivers.
