Streak AI Technologies raises $1 million in funding round
Streak AI Technologies has raised $1 million in a pre series A round of funding led by 3one4Capital along with participation from Rainmatter Capital. The startup had raised its seed round of $350,000 from the latter back in 2017.
Rainmatter Capital is an initiative by Zerodha funds and invests in innovative Indian fintech startups. 3One4 Capital is a Bengaluru based early stage venture capital fund promoted by TV Mohandas Pai, a former top executive at Infosys.
Streak AI has developed a platform which allows retail traders to validate their trading strategies and implement these strategies in live trades in the stock market. The product was developed from the thinking that retail investors are not equipped with high end technology which can help them compete with the institutional traders who largely trade through algorithms.
It enables retail traders to test their strategies and sharpen their skills without any need for coding skills. It has already partnered with stock broking platform Zerodha to take the product across the country.
In a statement shared with the press, Streak AI said that more than 35 to 40% of the annual turnover for institutional investors come from algorithm based trading. With this platform the Bengaluru based startup said that they could offer a level playing field to retail traders as well so that they could test their strategies, get real time analysis and generate big returns.
It allows trading in all securities in the National Stock Exchange, currencies and MCX Commodities.
The company was founded in 2017 by Harsha Manohar, Vipul Divyanshu and Jayalakshmi Manohar who were top executives at fashion marketplace Voonik previously. The startup has already seen more than 1.5 lakh users who have back tested more than 13 million strategies and have generated total transaction value of $300 million.
“Identifying trading opportunities real time and not having to track positions manually, across segments, has given our users an extra edge. Technical indicators that were mere formulae are now being used to create meaningful trading strategies and techniques that puts Indian retail investors on par with the global standards,” said Harsha Manohar, cofounder, Streak AI.
