Punekars gear up to experience creative expression and joy of Giving

Join the Good Graffiti Fest (GGF) at Pawna Lake- for the unique event!

Pune – 18 Feb 2018: We often hear the phrase, ‘be the change that you want to see in the world’, but it’s not easy to implement it in our day-to-day lives. We find it difficult to take charge in our hands and end up blaming the system or pointing fingers at others. However, there are some real life heroes around us, who have taken on the situations head-on and battled against all odds for a bigger social change.

Meet Ashish Shrivastava, who was a successful professional at Infosys, Pune. After five years of IT career, he joined the first cohort of fellows at Teach for India and then went on to set up ‘Shiksharth’ in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, where he has been working for over five years to improve the education system. With all the naxal activities and violence in the region, his experiences would shock most of us. He shall be there at the Good Graffiti Fest to share a lot of such stories.

GGF is an annual ‘impact-event’ which brings together social change leaders, artists and active citizens to explore, express and evolve! It is led by volunteers and involves various engagement activities like  talks, workshops, community graffiti, music & dance performances, “eco-bazar” and showcase of creative projects. This year GGF is happening for 1 day & 1 night at Thakursai Village, Pawna Lake, Lonavala on 24 – 25 Feb. It’s a unique opportunity to interact with some phenomenal social change leaders & camp by the pristine Pawna lake.

The event was initiated in Feb 2016 by a active citizen group – Karmyo. Deepika Goyal, a founding member explains that “we can’t create smart cities, without responsible citizenship. GGF shall include several experiences that encourage social responsibility, while having fun. One such experience shall be to paint the village school, along with an artist group. Another one is ‘Antarchakshu’ – that aims to sensitize participants about the lives of visually impaired. Overall, it’s perfect getaway for people to relax their minds and at the same time get energized and inspired.”

The event has turned out to be popular amongst working professional as well as families. Richa Singh, CSR professional from BMC software highlights that “events like GGF help employees to witness the ground reality. Individual responsibility is not just about donations but also about engaging with communities and understanding the real social issues. Also, it’s an opportunity to develop better team bonding.”

Other speakers at Good Graffiti Fest 2018 include Divyanshu Ganatra, the first bling paraglider and founder of Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation and Aditya Tiwari, the youngest Indian to adopt a child. More details can be found on www.goodgraffitifest.com

The fest shall commence at 9 AM on 24th and close by 11 AM on 25th Feb. There is a registration fee of Rs. 3000 that includes all the activities, meals and accommodation. If there is a group of 10 or more people from your company, we can offer a group discount of 35%.

GGF is definitely an event that would leave the participants energized and inspired!
