Lawyered Announces Its Acquisition in an All Cash Deal
Lawyered has been specifically designed to bring legal discovery online, making it cost effective and accessible to all. It is focusing on evolving the way people interact with or within the legal industry.
In the quest to ensure growth, Lawyered, an online legal tech initiative for start-up entrepreneurs has recently announced its acquisition by two entrepreneurs – Himanshu Gupta, a renowned professional serving legal industry and Ashish Bhatia, CEO of India Accelerator, at an undisclosed amount of cash deal.
Commenting on the announcement, Himanshu Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO of Lawyered, said, “We are extremely delighted to announce the acquisition of Lawyered as it brings a lot of new opportunities for the start-up communities seeking Legal consultancy. Since, Legal profession is going to be one of the most disrupted sectors of the consulting industry, we are looking forward to introduce our customers to highly experienced lawyers and help them build cordial relations to aid them in their professional and personal journey.”
Lawyered was incepted in 2016 by four Founders – Shashank Shekhar, Gauri Bedekar, Raghav Shekhar and Lakshya Kamboj as a legal discovery platform for the start-ups to understand legal compliances. However, in such a short span, Lawyered reached out to professionals, businesses and corporate houses as their customers.
Speaking about the same, Raghav Shekhar, Ex Co-founder, Lawyered, spoke, “Lawyered was started with a clear objective to disrupt the model through with the legal industry had been operating. Our journey at Lawyered has been extremely enriching to say the least, and we’re glad that it’s in safe hands. I’m sure the founding team will remain associated with the new stakeholders in some way or the other as Lawyered remains very close to each one of our hearts. Wishing all the success to the new team.”
Post acquisition, the founders of Lawyered have handed over the lead to Himanshu Gupta and Ashish Bhatia. With a combined industry experience of over 40 years, Himanshu and Ashish, together bring in the expertise and business acumen needed for scaling up of Lawyered. They have been looking after the expansion of the business with increased outreach.
Recently, Lawyered has been shortlisted for second cohort batch of India Accelerator.
