Most of the dell service centers have shut down due to poor service, lack of sales and shift of customers from Dell to other brands, and what ever services centers are left In India, they always have the same statement to repeat- Please submit your laptop, we will diagnose the laptop and if there are any parts requirement, we will order it and you will get the laptop in 5-7 days and almost 95% times the delivery of parts take more than 10-15 days.

If you ask for dell for onsite warranty, the service engineers do not arrive at the given time frame, no matter how busy your schedule is, they never come on fixed appointed time.

The most shocking thing in this entire scenario is that Dell do not have standard parts of the laptop even in the top metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad. You cant really expect to deliver such parts in the remote and/or rural areas of India.

One of our team member bought an Alienware x15 R2 Gaming Laptop worth around 4 lacs, in the month of November 2022 just 6 months back from the date of publishing the article, he also bought a premium extended warranty with premium support priority support from dell worth 50,000 INR.

The laptop met with some issues in its CPU & GPU fan within 6 months of purchase and a complaint was raised for the same, it was told by the dell contact center that it will take 2-3 days for the parts delivery and this came as a shocker.

Parts delivery? what does that mean? a company like dell which claims to be 70% market share holder and a market leader do not keep basic parts handy for the repair and maintenance services that too in the major metropolitan cities of India?

Anyways nothing could be done and the team member agreed to schedule the appointment with the engineer after 2 days, after the confirmation from the dell contact center person.

After two days despite fixing the appointment no one arrived and no one even bothered to inform about the absent.

When another call was made to dell to know why the engineer has not arrived even after fixing the time, even the customer contact center had no knowledge about the same.

When Dell customer contact center people were asked to make call and ask why their engineer has not arrived, they told our team member that they are unable to make direct calls to the engineer as it is not allowed to them, they can only do emails.

When our team member asked, why cant they make calls, we came to know that the entire customer support team is outsourced to a third party which when we explored came out to be TVS-E which itself is a electronic manufacturer and manufactures and distributes IT products, dot matrix printers, point of sale terminals, printer supplies, keyboards, mobiles, mouse, uninterruptible power supplies, and set top boxes.

TVS-e are too much busy handling faults and errors in their own products and facing issues with their own logistics and is unable to handle dell complaints.

Even while writing this article which is on the third day the engineer has not yet arrived and now you can understand how risky it could be buying dell laptops and dell products when you need a reliable partner to keep your business going on in crucial time.
