In 3 days, 1.5 lakh people from other states came to Uttar Pradesh, Yogi said – they will be quarantined for 14 days

Today is the 5th day of 21 days of lockdown across the country to stop the spread of coronavirus. However, on Saturday, it failed from Delhi to Lucknow. From Delhi Gate to Lucknow and then to Purvanchal and other parts, people were sent by arranging buses. It is estimated that 1.5 lakhs have arrived in the state from states within 3 days. These people will have to live in a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed all DMs to locate 1.5 lakh migrants who have returned to the state in the last 3 days, let them stay in the state camps and ensure arrangements for their food and other everyday needs. Their names, addresses and phone numbers have been made available to these officials and they are being monitored. At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said – All these migrant laborers will have to stay in government camps for 14 days. They will not be allowed to return to their homes. More than 65,000 calls were made to village heads last night to ensure arrangements. Nodal officers have been appointed. Village bodies have also been asked to prepare a list of migrants.
Thermal scanning done in Deoria
In the midst of this exercise, many people have reached their homes. Thermal scanning of laborers from other states was done in Deoria. After that they were allowed to go to their villages. Bus stations were also queued up and scanned by teams of doctors and health workers. Data on their names, addresses, phone numbers was prepared. An official said – only those people will be quarantined, who will show suspicious symptoms. No suspects have been found in Deoria anymore.
Shelters built in 21 districts
Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue Renuka Kumar said that 100 shelters have been built in 21 districts so far. These districts include Sant Kabir Nagar, Bhadohi, Mirjapur, Kaushambi, Kasganj, Jaunpur, Gorakhpur, Amroha, Chandauli, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Shravasti, Chitrakoot, Maharajganj, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Mainpuri, Badaypur and Lakhimpur. Integrated control room is being established at the state level in the office of Relief Commissioner. 50 thousand rupees have been allocated to each district for establishing permanent control rooms in the districts.
Bihar Chief Minister said- No permission will be allowed to go home for 14 days
All the laborers coming from Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan are from Bihar, who have left their homes through UP. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered the officials to set up relief camps in the border districts. These laborers will not be allowed to go home for 14 days. Nitish Kumar had said – Sending people back to the states by special buses will violate the lockdown. This will increase the spread of coronavirus. He said, instead of trying to send people back home, it is better to organize camps locally. The state government will reimburse the cost of these camps organized by anyone.
