‘I’d be worried if the death toll will start rising at a fast pace’ Arvind Kejriwal.
Covid-19 cases have seen a tremendous jump in the last few days across the country including the capital of the country. Meanwhile, on Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference and said that coronavirus might not go, coronavirus might remain. He said that the cases of corona have increased in the last few days but there is nothing to worry about, I will be worried when the death toll will start increasing at a very fast pace. If the coronavirus continues and people keep recovering, then there is no cause for concern. The cases that are happening should not be such a serious case that if the system of our hospitals collapses or weakens, then such a situation will be a matter of concern.
Arvind Kejriwal said that on May 17th, the fourth lockdown was significantly relaxed which was expected to increase the cases in Delhi. He said that till May 17th, there were 9755 cases in Delhi and now there are 13418 cases. During this time 3500 new coronavirus cases have been reported. At the same time, 2500 patients have recovered and gone to their respective homes.
Throwing light on the facilities being provided, CM Kejriwal said that the Delhi government hospital has 3829 beds and only 1478 patients. At the same time, oxygen is available on 3164 beds. Apart from this, the private hospital has 677 beds, out of which 509 are in-patient. Hospitals have more than 250 ventilators. He informed that 20 percent of the beds in 117 hospitals in Delhi would be for Corona. This will increase 2000 beds.
1500 beds ready in GTB
CM Kejriwal announced that 1500 beds are being prepared in GTB and there will be oxygen available on all ofthem. All this arrangement will be ready in the upcoming three to four days. We are preparing such an arrangement that the coronavirus patient will know which hospital to go to.
