Assumptions made by the Tarun Gogoi for CJI Ranjan Gogoi
Suppose the former Cheif Justice of India could go to the Rajya Sabha. In that case, he can accept to be the upcoming chief ministerial candidate of the BJP in Assam, told Tarun Gogoi.
“I have discovered from various BJP sources that former CJI Ranjan Gogoi’s name is there on the list of BJP candidates for the chief minister’s position. I assume that he might be proposed as the next possible chief ministerial candidate,” he stated.
According to Tarun Gogoi, CJI Ranjan Gogoi has political ambitions too.
Ranjan Gogoi is the son of former Assam Chief Minister Kesab Chandra Gogoi, could have quickly become the chairman of the Human Rights Commission or different rights bodies. Still, he accepted the Rajya Sabha membership as “he has political goals too”, the Congress leader insisted.
“The BJP was delighted with CJI Ranjan Gogoi for the Ayodhya land conflict case verdict. It can’t be unexpected if he accepts to be the upcoming Chief Minister candidate for the BJP, Tarun Gogoi told on Saturday.
Ranjan Gogoi headed a bench that delivered the verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid conflict case that provided Hindus the 2.77 acres conflicted land for construction of Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir and guided that Muslims be granted a 5-acre property at a “prime location” to build a mosque in the city.
The BJP’s reply to the statement made by Tarun Gogoi.
The Bhartiya Janta Party, however, did not confirm the report. They denied the statements released by the Congress leader.
“People say many insignificant things when they become very old. There is nothing true on what Tarun Gogoi said regarding the former CJI becoming the BJPs chief ministerial candidate for Assam,” the Bhartiya Janta party’s state unit president Ranjeet Kumar Dass replied.
Tarun Gogoi doesn’t want to be the ministerial candidate of the Congress.
Tarun Gogoi also said that he is not in a mood to be the chief ministerial candidate of the Congress for Assam. He would just contest the elections for the party. Rest, the party will decide. I can only act as a guide to the election procedure.
“I will participate in the elections but I will not be the chief ministerial candidate for the Congress party. There are various highly qualified candidates in the party for the position. I can only be a guiding unit or act as a mentor,” he told.
You can assume the grand alliance of the Congress, the Left, the AIUDF in Assam.
A familiar candidate can also be projected from the proposed ‘grand alliance’ including the Congress, the Left, the AIUDF, and other like-minded political parties, he stated.
CJI Ranjan Gogoi accepted the Rajya Sabha membership
