Social distance, use of mask, healthy diet – IFFCO educates people for taking preventive measures
Under this campaign, people are being informed about measures such as maintaining social distance, proper hygiene and healthy diet as well as covering the face with a mask to prevent the spread of the virus. IFFCO employees are educating people about prevention from corona virus at more than 100 locations and sale centers.
Distributing sanitizers, soaps and mask
More than 3.5 lakh vitamin-C tablets, 50,000 medicated soaps, 20,000 masks, 5,000 sanitizers and a lot of medical kits have been distributed to various locations across the country. In addition, medical equipment has been made available to hospital staff and health workers facing shortage of medical equipment in many places. IFFCO is also delivering essential commodities to inaccessible places through its extensive marketing and transportation network. The fertilizer sector has been identified as an important sector by the Government of India. Thousands of labourers and workers are working tirelessly during the epidemic to ensure that the farmers of the country do not face plant-nutrient deficiency. Taking the responsibility of ensuring the safety of these labourers working unabated and uninterrupted, IFFCO is making regular supply of sanitizers, soaps and masks for them.
Ration kits with food items to families of labourers
Ration kits are also being provided to families of migrants and labourers in various states along with food items. IFFCO is providing disinfectants at its sale centers, warehouses, cooperatives and e-market outlets as well as practising social distancing. IFFCO is also taking full care of the hygiene of vehicles which are being used for transportation of fertilizers. IFFCO’s marketing director Yogendra Kumar is spearheading the campaign himself in various states. The unit heads are leading the operations in the plants in collaboration with their respective unions and associations. IFFCO has also contributed Rs 25 crore to the PM-Cares fund.
The Prime Minister made a tweet praising IFFCO’s contribution in which he thanked IFFCO. Managing Director IFFCO Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi said, “IFFCO is encouraged by the Prime Minister praising IFFCO’s contribution. Although financial contribution has its own importance in the fight against epidemics, the role of social awareness is very important in preventing the epidemic from spreading. This is the reason that IFFCO and its employees have decided to spread information and educate people to fight coronavirus. I believe that this campaign will benefit the farmers and rural community, because this campaign can prevent the epidemic from spreading in rural areas. This campaign is a living example of IFFCO’s service spirit towards the country and countrymen. “
