The neighboring US is also looking for an increase in similar occurrences, especially in children. The CDC revealed last month that there were over 40,000 new COVID cases and 2,000 fatalities per week in the US, bringing the total number of fatalities to well over a million since the epidemic began more than two years ago.
The Canadian Red Cross said that they are coming to assist the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in light of the spike in respiratory sickness patients.
