Bengal Governor Says I’m Not Safe In Raj Bhavan. Imagine India As A Country Where A Person Who Is Governer Of State Is Not Feeling Safe, How Can Common Man Feel Safe In India

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has raised serious concerns about his personal security, citing the current contingent of Kolkata Police stationed at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata as a threat. This alarming statement came just days after Governor Bose ordered the police personnel to vacate the Raj Bhavan premises, a directive that has been blatantly ignored, with the police still on duty at the Governor House.

“I have reasons to believe that the presence of the current officer-in-charge and his team is a threat to my personal security,” Governor Bose told Press Trust of India, highlighting a severe breach of trust and protocol.

The Governor’s concerns have been met with stunning inaction from the state’s leadership. Despite informing Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of his insecurity due to the Kolkata Police’s presence in Raj Bhavan, there has been no response or remedial action from her office. This lack of response underscores the dysfunction and negligence prevalent in the political and security apparatus of the state.

Sources within the Governor House have revealed to Press Trust of India that Governor Bose has accused the state government of engaging in constant surveillance, allegedly conducted by the police personnel stationed at Raj Bhavan. He suspects that this snooping is being carried out under the influence of external “influencers,” pointing to a deeply entrenched network of political interference and manipulation.

This incident not only exposes the fragile and compromised state of security for high-ranking officials in West Bengal but also brings to light the pervasive issues within the Indian legal and political system. The Governor’s predicament raises critical questions about the effectiveness and integrity of the state’s security and political mechanisms, as well as the alarming extent of political meddling in security matters. The apparent disregard for the Governor’s safety and the subsequent inaction by the Chief Minister’s office reflect a broader systemic failure that demands immediate and thorough scrutiny.
