Ayushman Bharat to install 1, 50,000 healthcare Centres across India & more discussed at Healthcare Summit 2019 organised by TiE Delhi-NCR
22nd February, 2019: TiE Delhi-NCR, one of the most committed chapters in the global TiE network, concluded Healthcare Summit 2019 under the aegis of its Healthcare Special Interest Group (SIG) at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi today.
Following the welcome address by Vikas Kuthiala, Chair, Healthcare SIG and the keynote speech by Bhavdeep Singh, CEO, Fortis Healthcare, the Healthcare Summit 2019 proceeded with a session titled ‘Demystifying the Ayushman Bharat scheme’. In the inaugural session chaired by Dr. Bobby John, Managing Director, Aequitas Consulting Pvt. Ltd. it was illuminated that Ayushman Bharat, the world’s largest healthcare mission, is currently operating about 36,000 centres in India, facilitating more than 5 crore people to access quality healthcare. By the end of the mission, the scheme aims to install 1, 50,000 centres across the country.
Speaking about the summit, Ms. Geetika Dayal, Executive Director, TiE Delhi-NCR, said, “With this Summit, TiE’s intent is to encourage startups and investors alike to help showcase & deliberate on finding advanced & effective healthcare solutions for not only India but globally. Our attempt has been to touch all the facets disrupting the Healthcare sector.”

The session themed “Emerging Technologies Disrupting Healthcare”, focused on cutting-edge technologies like VR, AR, 3D Printing and Natural Language Processing that medical professionals are already leveraging to provide enhanced healthcare services to patients. In the following sessions, investments into new healthcare ventures and facilitation of affordable healthcare across India were also discussed. The sessions were chaired by Sandeep Sinha, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Lumis Partners and Dr. Rana Mehta, Partner and Leader Healthcare, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. respectively.
Healthcare Startups got an opportunity to showcase and exhibit their path-breaking offerings. Some of them included Vitor Health. GenElek Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Apex Orthowears who showcased their unique products and services and performed free on-ground health check-ups.
