After Anil Ambani, ED will send summons to all Yes Bank debtors, many big companies including Vodafone and DHFL
After sending summons to Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has decided to send summons to all the big borrowers of Yes Bank. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing the money laundering case against Yes Bank owner Rana Kapoor and others has sent summons to Anil Ambani. The ED has said that the agency will interrogate all the big borrowers of Yes Bank who took loans during Rana Kapoor’s tenure.
Summons will be sent to these companies
Companies to be summoned by ED include Essel Group, Vodafone-Idea, Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS), Omkar Realtors, Dewan Housing (DHFL), Jet Airways, Cox & Kings, McLeod Russell and CG Power Huh. According to the sources, summons can also be sent to GMR and GVK Group. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said in a press conference of March 6 that all the cases related to Yes Bank would be investigated. Major companies taking loans from Yes Bank include Anil Ambani Group, Essel, IL&FS, DHFL and Vodafone etc. Most of these companies did not repay their loan, due to which Yes Bank’s condition deteriorated. Yes Bank owes 34,000 crore rupees on 44 companies of 10 big business houses of the country. This is the biggest reason for putting the bank in financial crisis.
