First time in India! Compare SIMs & switch on a tap!
Ever wanted to compare all mobile networks in your area? Which operator has the fastest net, best coverage & lowest call drops in your locality? Always confused as to what is the best recharge for your usage? Well, we have an answer to all these questions & much more. Read on…
This is the journey of Y Ravi & Anil Kumar, budding entrepreneurs from Hyderabad. Y has quit as a marketing head at a leading telecom to co-found tiktik, India’s first SIM comparison platform. In his own words, “One fun fact first, more Indians use telecom than toothpaste! For an industry of this size, there is unfortunately no credible comparison platform, so we have built one”. tiktik aims to empower a billion telecom users in India take the right choice of network & recharge.
For a country of our size, there cannot be one best network for entire India, there can only be a best network for your locality.
tiktik analyses the publicly available information on TRAI portal to present a simple five-star rating for all networks in your locality. “For a country of our size, there cannot be a best network for India, but there can be one for your locality”, says Y. tiktik attempts to further the consumer empowerment initiatives by TRAI. If you find you are stuck on the wrong network, you can switch network on a single tap.
On the recharge front, tiktik sources the best “made-for-me” offers from operators through their proprietary technology. Since the offers are from the operator directly, you can be assured of the benefit, unlike in payment apps. These offers provide minimum 30% more value compared to the market recharges on payment apps. What more, you can compare the “made-for-me” offers from all your SIMs before you recharge on the app.
Commenting on the technology which powers tiktik, Anil Kumar, the tech co-founder says, “The app looks so simple to use, but believe you me, the tech behind it isn’t so. Just like weather API, we have built a network API which we can integrate with other apps”
tiktik is launched only a few weeks ago and has witnessed good consumer traction with a 4.8 rating on Play Store. The bootstrapped startup is about to raise their first investment from a marquee early stage VC. Here’s wishing team tiktik, all the best.
