PM Modi spoke at the High-Level Segment of ECONOMIC & SOCIAL COUNCIL!!
Yesterday, on the 17th of July, for the first time since the nation’s last overwhelming election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council that was held on the 17th of June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed to the broader UN membership.
“Multilateralism after COVID 19: What kind of UN do we need at the 75th anniversary” was the theme of the High-Level Segment of the ECOSOC. Matching with the 75th Anniversary of UN’s founding, the theme also resonates with India’s priority for its upcoming membership of the UN Security Council.

- One hundred and ninety-three countries were brought together by the UN. Along with its membership, he says his expectations from the organization have also increased.

Talking about Sustainable Development Goals, he mentioned about country’s successful improvement in socio-economic indicators of its vast population, which also has a significant impact on the “goals'” target.
