Bridal trousseau is my key product. We offer tailoring & styling services overall in Mumbai.
5.Share the idea or story behind the venture. How did it come to an existence?
I had taken a break from my corporate life post birth of my daughter.
This break plus motivation from my husband, family and friends transformed me into an entrepreneur. Fashion has always been my weakness and strength as well.
I was very unhappy with the local tailors, so I thought why not learn stitching and their concepts. So few months later I had worn a kurti designed myself at a family function. I was appreciated. I realized I have some potential to experiment with designs and patterns. I shared this idea with my spouse.
So we together started an online store of high quality fabric women wear at affordable price range.
The perfect opportunity I grabbed was my sister’s wedding. The entire bridal trousseau was created by me solely and it was a hit. Appreciation flooded. And the rest is history.
6. How did you identify your co-founder?
My co-founder is my better half.

15.What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
It is a matter of choice and decisions, comfort and preference. You must believe in yourself and be determined to get things done everyday.
One thing I can tell you for sure is that you will have challenges, maybe sooner than expected. You must keep the faith! It is not easy running your own business, that is why not everyone can do it, be strong.
Both are hardworking and focused.
16.If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Mother Teresa had perfectly said, “Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow has not yet come, we have only Today, let us begin”. So I will also follow the same in both my personal and professional life and I want to just keep going and growing,
17.How has being an entrepreneur affected your family & Social life?
Both motherhood and entrepreneurship have deeply enriched my life. Although each requires sacrifices, you can ease the pain by prioritizing and carefully planning your time.
I have very few friends who are understanding and supportive. They ask for discounts and free stuffs (laughs). But they are gems of my life. I don’t get much time but on every monthly weekend I make sure that I spend time with them.
18.Anything, you would like to say to our readers or upcoming entrepreneurs?
Believe in yourself and success will be yours whether now or later. Success is not the goal here actually.
19.Tell us something about your education & family background.
I have done my Masters in Commerce from the Mumbai University and Certificate course in Fashion Designing. I started my career as banker, embarking my journey from bank to insurance industry.
My mom is a home maker and father looks after his shops, they are my pillars and inspiration.
My in laws are my moral support, lucky to have them. My better half is my motivator, a senior level fund accountant in a reputed company. There is another junior in my life my daughter who inspires me right since her birth.
20.What is your USP which makes it unique & different from other start-ups in similar domains.
The USP is it is very reasonably priced. I design for women who are elegant but not extravagant, who are muted yet glamorous. The idea is to create a classic look, which is timeless and elegant at the same time. I make sure that it’s well cut, well stitched, and well structured. Long story made short my business is quality based.
