1. What is the Name of Your Venture?
It’s called “ENVIROCON ENGINEERING SERVICES”.It’s an MEP design consultancy firm.
2. Who is your target audience?
We have been serving clients in almost every industry including healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, clean rooms, commercial, entertainment, pharmaceutical, residential, hotels & so on.
3. Where is your venture based (city, state, country) & What are your target areas?
While “ENVIROCON” is presently based in New Delhi, we have plans of expanding it to few other areas as well.
4. What problems does your venture solve? What are your products or services?
MEP Design consultancy(HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing/ Sanitary & Fire Fighting) in the new building design as well as for renovation works.We can also extend our services for design review for scrutiny/ value addition in existing engineered systems to provide innovative solutions for energy conservation.
5. Share the idea or story behind the venture. How did it come to an existence?
At the onset of my career, I had already made up my mind that I had to set up my own business.That is how I started my own little venture by name of “ENVIROCON ENGINEERING SERVICES”. Incidentally, the first assignment was a professional write up assigned by my previous employer company itself.
We started as an HVAC consulting firm but it has been our quality, expertise and customer satisfaction which prompted us to take a leap forward and our service portfolio now includes HVAC, Electrical systems, Plumbing, Sanitary & Fire Fighting systems.
6. How did you identify your co-founder? Tell us something about your co-founder/s
I don’t have a co-founder.
7. How did you hire your first team members?
Through a network developed during service tenure with different companies. Also, we trained a few freshers from the professional institutes.
8.What expansion plans are you looking for in the next 2 years, next 5 years?
In the next 2-5 years, we plan to develop “ENVIROCON” to fully fledged MEP consultancy firm and expand to new geographies as well.
9.Where do you want to see yourself in next 10 years?
Next 10 years is a relatively long period and we don’t want to be bound.
Rather we would like to go with the flow.
10.Have you raised any funding? Or have any plans for the funding?
No, we are a self-funded organization.
11.What were the problems you faced during the starting days and how did you resolve them?
One of the problems in early days was to create a positive environment about the decision to start up. There was also a need of skilled team and challenge to get the right talent. Initially, I was one woman army and all was to be handled by me alone, like getting projects, meeting with clients, design & audit the projects, invoices and follow ups.
But with focussed efforts and determination, I was able to raise a very efficient self-driven team and there has been no looking back since then.
12. What have been your biggest challenges and learning so far?
Biggest challenge was to establish market credibility in terms of quality and timely deliverables.
Learning was that if you believe in yourself, success is bound to come.
13.Are you married, single or in a relationship?
I am married.
14.What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?
In non-work time I enjoy watching movies and also reading motivating books which act as great stress buster.
15.What’s your favorite food & holiday destination?
I love the Indian Cuisine and my favorite holiday destination is Goa.
16.Whom do you consider your idol or biggest motivator?
My greatest motivator is Dr. Diasaku Ikeda, the third president of organization named “SGI International.” His books, quotes, newsletters and practical guidance keep me in positive and uplifted spirits and enable to keep moving ahead always.
17. What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
If you are an entrepreneur, sky is the limit to expand your horizons, though the risk factors associated are more as compared to if you are working for someone else.
However, you have more opportunity to learn from your own successes & failures.
18. If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
I think I started perfectly ok in the circumstances I had and so I don’t think I would have done anything differently.
19. How has being an entrepreneur affected your family & Social life?
Paucity of time for family and social life. A meticulous planning is required to ensure an optimal balance between the two.
20. Anything, you would like to say to our readers or upcoming entrepreneurs?
I would like to emphasize to all upcoming entrepreneurs that it is only the first step that matters. There may initially be struggles but with sincerity and firm resolve, the environment and universe will render all requisite support mystically.

I am B.E (Mechanical) from “Delhi College of Engineering” .
To take my organisation to still better heights by learning advanced management skills & techniques in marketing and entrepreneurship , I am presently pursuing “Senior Executive Management program from Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad).”
I come from a highly educated family with versatile educational backgrounds. My family is predominantlyof Doctors, Engineers and Bankers.

Our USP is to focus on “Quality Services with minimum response time”. Our distinct quality is to give 100% to all assignments irrespective of their size.
23. What do you think is the biggest threat to the success of small businesses & Start-ups today?
Competing with each other instead of focusing on self-growth.
24. Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?
I would rather leave this to others to comment.
But to me, success means happiness and contentment and I am happy and satisfied with my accomplishments.
