I was just 15 when my father raped me, my mother was ill and he told me that he will kill my mother, me and my two younger siblings if I tell it to anyone.
I was really scared, my father was a habitual drinker and always use to beat my mother, me and my brother & sister. After a year when I was 16 my mother died. He continuously kept raping me for almost two years. I turned 17 and one day, I came to know that my father wanted to sell me to a man for 10,000 INR. I ran away from my home with my brother & sister who were just 15 & 14 at that time.
We had no place to stay, no food to eat and nothing. I spent the entire night at a footpath and decided never to go back. The next morning I saw few kids begging on the road and they also asked me to join them. This was below my dignity and decided not to do this at all. I rather decided to clean the cars of the people at a petrol pump and they gave me some money. That evening, we got some food and money and again spent the night on the same footpath. Next day it rained and the evening was quite chilling, I was unable to sleep due to cold weather and I got a candle from the petrol pump which helped us to keep ourself awake the whole night, but as soon as I lighted the candle, it started giving some kind of fragrance of some flowers and I really liked it. After a week, I joined a orphanage as a maid to take care of kids along with my brother & sister. The orphanage was a key turning point in my life, I got a salary of 3000 INR along with shelter, food & clothing. I use to work there and take care of the kids. They had regular programs for life skills where they used to teach young adults about candle making, greeting card making, kite making, art & craft making etc . I learned the art of candle making there and began my venture from there itself.

Another 20% of the money goes in the education of all the kids who work with me in their free time. Another 30% goes in purchasing of the raw material and I keep 10% with me for my survival and also for the education of my younger brother and sister.
