India’s Economic Business Model
New Delhi (India): The Indian economy is growing at a steady pace and its performance during the recent years has been very impressive. The record performance of the economy over the last few years has placed India among the fastest growing and most promising economy in the world. Today, Global CEOs also see India as one of the top reckoning attractive investment destinations. Truly, India has earned a bright spot in the global landscape.
Earlier India was nowhere in the list of top 10 world economies, but now it is poised to overtake Japan and Germany to emerge as the third largest economy in the next 10 years. However it needs to be consistent in reforms and focus more on the social sector. We need to support the Govt in its efforts.
India has many advantages over its competitors: a rich traditional skill base coupled with cutting-edge technology and a huge skilled workforce. A decentralised approach to a creative manufacturing hub has never been easier.
Under the leadership of Mr. Narenda Modi, Prime Minister, India’s 1.3 billion strong young population will be one of the key drivers of economic growth and shared prosperity globally. India’s Economic Business Model management will continue as source of inspiration for other countries. The world has much to learn from India.
Last month, the Institute Of Directors (IOD), India organised its first ever, ‘Singapore Global Convention’ on Corporate Ethics & Risk Management from 14 – 15 December 2017 in Singapore and over 250 leaders, professionals from countries such as Singapore, UK, USA, UAE, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, etc. participated. Before the commencement of the formal Sessions, a personal message was received from Mr. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India which was read out to the audience. To quote from the Message: “Transparency and accountability are vital pillars of Corporate Governance”. The complete report is covered in the January issue of ‘Director Today’.
Today the legally mandated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) law in the Companies Act 2013, has created more opportunities for corporations to build a more inclusive economy, where CSR initiatives become mainstream corporate policies.
