Dearness Allowance (DA) Hike Latest News: While Central Government Employees and Pensioners are awaiting another hike in DA, DR rates as per 7th Pay Commission, the Telangana Government has revised DA, DR rates for employees and pensioners in the state.
The Telangana Government has recently announced revised Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) rates for its employees and pensioners in the state. This decision has been made in light of the Telangana State Decennial Celebrations.
Dearness Allowance is an allowance granted to government employees and pensioners to offset the impact of inflation on their salaries and pensions. It is revised periodically based on the recommendations of the respective Pay Commissions or as per the government’s decision.
The announcement of revised DA and DR rates indicates that the Telangana Government has changed the percentage of allowance provided to its employees and pensioners to compensate for the rising cost of living. This adjustment aims to ensure that the purchasing power of government employees and pensioners remains intact in the face of inflation.
It’s important to note that the revision of DA and DR rates for Central Government employees and pensioners is separate and is determined by the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. The announcement by the Telangana Government pertains specifically to employees and pensioners in the state of Telangana.
Government employees and pensioners nationwide eagerly anticipate DA and DR hikes as it directly impacts their monthly income and financial well-being. The revision in these rates aims to provide relief to employees and pensioners by adjusting their allowances to keep pace with the increasing cost of living.
According to a tweet by Harish Rao Thanneeru, the Minister for Finance, Health Medical and Family Welfare of Telangana State, the Telangana Government has released one instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners. The release of this instalment is part of the Telangana State Decennial Celebrations.
The tweet states that the DA and DR have been revised at a rate of 2.73% on the basic pay/pension of the employees and pensioners. This means that the allowance and relief provided to the employees and pensioners will be increased by 2.73% of their basic pay or pension amount.
The announcement indicates that the Telangana Government is taking steps to acknowledge and provide financial support to its employees and pensioners during the Telangana State Decennial Celebrations special occasion. By releasing this instalment of DA and DR, the government aims to ensure that the employees and pensioners receive increased allowances and relief to meet the rising cost of living.
It’s worth noting that this announcement pertains explicitly to government employees and pensioners in Telangana and is based on the direction of Chief Minister KCR. The release of one instalment of DA and DR will boost the income of government employees and enhance the financial well-being of pensioners in the state.
According to the statement by Minister Harish Rao Thanneeru, the revised Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) will be paid from June 2023 to eligible employees and pensioners in Telangana. The actual payment of the revised DA/DR will be made in July 2023.
This decision to revise the DA/DR rates will benefit a total of 7.28 lakh employees, including pensioners, in the state of Telangana. It is expected to provide them with increased financial support to cope with the rising cost of living.
The minister also mentioned that implementing the revised DA/DR rates would result in an additional expenditure of approximately Rs. 81.18 crores per month and Rs. 974.16 crores per annum for the state government. Additionally, there will be arrears amounting to Rs. 1380.09 crores to be paid to the employees and pensioners.
This indicates that the decision to revise the DA/DR rates will have a significant financial impact on the state’s budget. However, the government is taking this step to ensure that the employees and pensioners receive their entitled allowances and relief, thereby improving their financial well-being.
It’s important to note that the implementation of revised DA/DR rates and the associated costs mentioned in the statement is specific to the state of Telangana and its government employees and pensioners.
