Western Region Convocation of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organized at Pune

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organised Convocation 2018 – Western Region at Vivekanand Auditorium, MIT Engineering College, Kothrud, Pune today to formalize the Award of Associate Membership of the Institute to the newly qualified CS Members. Around 180 members were present during the first session and second session was attended by 240 associates members.
Dr. N S Umarani, Pro. Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune was the Chief Guest in the occasion for the first session.
Dr. N S Umarani congratulated the newly qualified Company Secretaries for their exemplary performance and also congratulated the new CS Members by motivating them to remain inquisitive throughout their lives, saying this would ensure constant growth of their knowledge.
Dr N.S. Umarani, Pro Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University said that, “Curriculum is a tool of education , country is changing with great phase and therefore industries are changing, change is happening from last 20-25 years , company secretary are not only company secretaries but also crisis secretaries.” He further said “Hard work, passion and compassion is very important and that will take budding company secretaries to great height.”
CS Makarand Lele, President, ICSI while addressing newly qualified CS members said, that “We need leaders who feel empowered, not under influence but who are open to new ideas, who want every single person in the country to feel like they belong, build relations because relation never fails”. He further said “Always accept challenges, accept the tough job and show your strength by fulfilling your job“.
Prof. (Dr) E B Khedkar, Vice Chancellor, Ajinkya D Y Patil University, Pune Chief Guest in the second session urged the students to follow the path of truth and ethics in their future endeavours and guide the corporate world on Corporate Governance and compliances.
CS Amit Jain, Chairman WIRC, CS Ashish Garg, Council Member, ICSI, were also present in the occasion.
CS Dinesh Chandra Arora, Secretary, ICSI declared the Convocation open and also proposed the vote of thanks while concluding the ceremony later.
