After wrapping up a two-day trip to France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on Saturday for the United Arab Emirates. While there, he met with French President Emmanuel Macron and extensively discussed with him. He also received the Grand Cross of the Legion of decoration, the nation’s highest civilian and military decoration.

When Modi lands in Abu Dhabi for the day-long visit, the two key partners will examine the progress after they signed a major trade deal. The focal areas may be energy, food security, and military.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the leader of Abu Dhabi and the president of the UAE, will speak with Modi.

As they launched a 25-year roadmap to further their strategic alliance, India and France stated on Friday that they were looking into co-developing and co-producing critical military assets, especially for the benefit of allies.
