Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), a state-owned telecom service provider, has yet to roll out 4G services. Still, it has begun focusing on enterprise 5G connections by working with tech companies to implement private network solutions.

To co-innovate and collaboratively sell private 5G connectivity solutions, BSNL announced on Monday its cooperation with L&T Technological Services (LTTS), a provider of technical engineering services. The decision comes after the business was given 5G spectrum as part of the government’s most recent Rs 89,000 crore revitalization package. The telecom provider has recently entered into four such partnerships.

“In this Industry 4.0 era, we support collaborations that help us increase the use of technology across industries. According to LTTS’s CEO and managing director, Amit Chadha, this relationship is a natural fit for businesses with complementary networks and digital capabilities.

BSNL recognizes the need for strategic alliances to harness the full potential of private 5G networks. By collaborating with tech firms, BSNL aims to leverage their expertise and resources to accelerate the deployment of private 5G infrastructure across the country. The telecom giant is actively engaging with leading technology companies, both domestic and international, to establish partnerships that can drive innovation and propel India’s digital transformation.

While BSNL will offer the spectrum, LTTS will install hardware, software, servers, technology, and core to integrate devices/sensors inside the customer’s ecosystem for private 5G, similar to its agreements with other technology businesses.

To implement private 5G network solutions jointly, BSNL worked with organizations, including Amantya Technologies, Echelon Edge, and Telecommunications Consultants India (TCIL), earlier this year.
