Facebook to Partner Co-working Spaces for Opening Innovation Hubs in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai

After setting up ‘India Innovation Hub’ at T-Hub, Hyderabad, in November last year, social networking giant Facebook will launch three more innovation hubs in India by 2019 to nurture Indian start-ups in the emerging technology space.
Besides, Facebook will also expand its other startup related programmes it runs in India, including SheLeadsTech, in order to deepen its penetration in Indian startup ecosystem.
Facebook is now looking for collaboration with co-working spaces to set up new ‘Innovation Hubs’ for startups
in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. These new line of Innovation Hubs will help foster innovation by hosting mentor hours and trainings for startups.

“Under the School of Innovation India from Facebook programme in partnership with SV.CO (Startup Village Collective), Facebook looks to spread awareness and incubate students, said Satyajeet Singh, Head – Strategic Product Partnerships, India & South Asia of Facebook, while speaking at the first Facebook Startup Day event held in Delhi on Tuesday.
With Innovation Hubs, Facebook will conduct workshops on Virtual Reality (VR), which is the focus area, across 30 universities covering 5,000 students. It has incubated 10 student teams from colleges, who will undergo VR product training and build a VR product prototype.
In April, Facebook had announced the first batch of 9 winning startups selected for India Innovation Hub programme at T-Hub, Hyderabad.
Singh further said that Facebook has worked closely with over 200 startups through its programmes – India Innovation Hub, SheLeadsTech and Code for the Next Billion.
Facebook will also expand its efforts in smaller cities, including Jaipur, Panjim, Kochi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and Shillong via SheLeadsTech Roadshow to inspire more women to think technology and entrepreneurship.
Facebook currently supports over 170 women entrepreneurs in 24 cities by providing access to community, tools, mentorship and resources.
