Loss of another innocent life, but the VIPs won’t stop misusing the powers!
The VIP culture did not only become the reason for the loss of another innocent, but has been affecting lakhs of people in uncountable ways ever since it came to existence. The problems and issues that it creates are visible in every part of the country, which is followed by the deaths of many innocents. There have been several incidents where the VIP culture has proven to be a bane for the humanity and lives of other people who suffer without any reason, except the existence of political party members who tend to use the services for their good, no matter how many lives get at stake because of the same. Though the political parties make an end number of promises for the welfare of the general public during the rallies and campaigns that they hold during elections, they hardly fulfill any.
Vandana Mishra, the female entrepreneur who was suffering and was yet stopped in traffic for the President’s arrival, lost her life on the spot:
One amongst the several incidents, that prove that no government official or political party has anything to do with the betterment or welfare of the public is the unfortunate demise of Vandana Mishra, a 50-year-old woman entrepreneur, who lost her life on 25th June 2021 due to an accepted mistake of the police department who decided to hang up the traffic for 25 minutes for the mere arrival of the President Ramnath Kovind. The incident was reported to take place between the Deep intersection and the Nandlal intersection in Kanpur. It is of utmost shame that the mishap could have been avoided if the proper route diversions or warnings were declared beforehand. But how does it matter to the ones who own all the luxuries! Vandana Mishra was merely an innocent woman who suffered the Covid- 19 complications and had to reach the hospital for treatment but failed to survive the obstructions created due to the VIP culture, as named.
The President delivered the message of sorrow to the family but did not manage to appear physically at a funeral that was a result of the protocols that were practiced for his well-being. Though there were several tweets of the Police Department posted online as apologies for the loss, how would that cure the pain that her family has to now go through.
Unavailability of resources to the needy due to the misuse of the same by VIPs:
The VIP protocols which merely benefit the politician have not only affected the people in general but have also made the misuse of the available resources. The health sector has faced issues because of the same a lot of times which was also mentioned in the letter that was written by the Federation Of All India Medical Association (FAMA) to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The letter mentioned the drawbacks of the VIP protocols and the power that is misused by politicians of all kinds in the health sector. The details also mentioned how several central government hospitals have testing centers reserved for the VIPs, which remains the same during the Covid-19 pandemics where the general public and the doctors themselves are denied proper and timely testing or treatments just because several resources are meant to be used by the political parties leaders. They also usually create conditions that result in the wastage of manpower and resources as the politicians illegally call the government doctors for the At-home checkups and treatments, which further also leads to the loss of time which could have been used to save another life.
The general public that elects and brings the politicians to power has to suffer drastically even when things and conditions could be avoided by merely a handful of changes in the processes and priorities.
A 12- year old girl loses her life while walking several kilometers to reach back home during COVID-19 lockdown, while the daughter of MLA returns back with comfort:
The other incident that speaks of the existing misuse of authorities and powers by the political leaders, is the one where two girls were stuck in their study place hundreds of kilometers away during the Covid lockdown and had to return home. The conditions were the same at the very start, but things turn around when the identities of the two girls get revealed. The one who was the daughter of an MLA in Bihar from the BJP party was brought back home with all the comforts and safety by the breaking of regulations set up for travel at that time. While, speaking of the other, she was a 12 years old girl who wanted to return to her home and tried so by walking all those hundred kilometers. She lost her innocent life during the struggle that was caused merely because she was from a poor family and had no influential background. No one cared about how the family would cope up with the loss and what hardships they would have to go through. The only thing that mattered was, the Bihar MLA’s daughter was back at home and had to face almost nothing. None of the officials bothered to mention this issue or the sad demise of the 12-year-old. The exploitation of resources and abuse of power is only done to bring luxuries and ease to the lives of the rich VIPs.
This does not stop at this, but another incident that took place at the Imphal airport when a woman doctor burst out her aggression on the Union minister K J Alphons, who was said to be a reason for the delay that was caused to her flight timings. However, it was the travel of President Ramnath Kovind that led to the delays of about 3 flights on the same day, to follow the security protocols that are meant for the VIPs. The woman was traveling on an urgent basis to be a part of her relative’s funeral, but she could not manage to do so merely because she had to wait at the airport for hours. She pleaded for a long time and mentioned that the family waited for her presence and the body might start decaying soon, but her words went unheard.
Misuse of powers by VIPs increases, leading to an increase in the hardships of common public
These are not even 1% of unfortunate events that are caused due to the VIP culture as they have taken the lives of hundreds to date. All the things go unheard when it comes to powerful people but the thing that must be remembered is that the power and authorities that they possess, come from the ones who are dying in the process. The government hardly notices the innocent lives that are put at stake or maybe the losses that are incurred by the public, but never fails to report the mere diseases that are caused to the powerful and richer sections of the society.
