Rahul & Deepak ventures in Empowerers Coworking to Empower Start-ups & Entrepreneurs
The journey of an entrepreneur can be quite a lonely, especially when you’re bootstrapping everything from the ground up by yourself. It’s a tough, lonely journey which can have pretty negative effects on you as a founder. Not a lot of people understand the processes of entrepreneurship and the unique obstacles we encounter, so being cooped up in a bedroom office all day by yourself with your own problems can be pretty daunting. A good way of avoiding this is to rent an area in a co-working space.
Co-working spaces are a relatively new phenomena, and are now really coming into their own. Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time in a number of co-working spaces around delhi and I have been loving every single one. Each is unique, full of different people, different services, different vibes and their own special stories to tell. Working in these spaces ensure you will always be surrounded by like-minded, talented individuals and teams which can really benefit you in the short and long term. The best part of working in co-working space is that it is very pocket friendly. As start-ups always have cash crunch, you can save a lot of money by setting your first office in co-working space. The top 5 reasons of working in co-working space as I could see and understand is-
- You can afford it.
- Grow your space as you grow your company.
- They’re ready with stuff you don’t even know you need.
- Network, network, network.
- Surround yourself with positive energy.
Today we are bringing the story of one such entrepreneur who is helping other start-ups and entrepreneurs by offering them very pocket friendly but well maintained, well to do and brilliant co-working space in one of the best and posh locality of the capital. Meet Mr. Rahul Krishna from
Empowerers Coworking Office, the name seems to be quite unique and different and the main reason behind such name is simple to understand that they are empowering start-ups and entrepreneurs to fulfil their dreams and vision.

We are a space management services company, providing spaces to people who are bootstrapping and facing financial burdens of getting an office. We provide spaces to entrepreneur who focuses on their business. 5. Share the idea or story behind the venture. How did it come to an existence?
I am a Recruitment professional and have 15 Years of Experience in IT companies and handled Lateral & Volume hiring’s globally. I was doing this for a while and wanted to do something which is about people, as I have always been around people and human capital. I ventured into a Recruitment company by the name of Talent Scientific, A Recruitment Company and had to bear the normal home chaos, working from home as I couldn’t afford a rented space and then reading about coworking spaces was interesting and the concept reached my mind.
6. How did you identify your co-founder? Tell us something about your co-founder/s
Deepak Bhardwaj has 15 Years of experience in Hospitality and Travel Business and was running a Travel boutique house, providing customer travel solutions, infact he wanted to expand the operations. I was handling his recruitment needs thru Talent scientific. We were not able to scale up their as his office was in the suburbs of Delhi and location was not appropriate for customers to reach his office. Human capital was backing out to join his business as they objected on the location of the office. A lot of hustling was going on in my mind and wanted to start a business which is lucrative and people centric and that was the birth an idea to open Empowerers, the Coworking Office.
Me and Deepak were in the same school and know each other for more than 20 years. Now we are Partners in everything, thanks for our friendship.
7. How did you hired your first team members
Nothing much, we posted the requirement on a job board and finally selected them
8.What expansion plans are you looking for the next 2 years, next 5 years?
Next two years = 10,000 Sqft
Next Five Years = 5, 00,000 Sqft
9.Where do you want to see yourself in next 10 years?
I should be planning my journey as a mentor & a Combinator, a successful entrepreneur who is recognized in the industry. To attain a level of recognition.
10. Have you raised any funding? Or have any plans for the funding?
No, we haven’t thought about it.
11. What were the problems you faced during the starting days and how did you resolve them?
Learning the dimension, sizes of interiors, getting the stuff from traders, the things we never imagined that we will have to learn all these things however we have leant our chapters. We did many mistakes in the designs and came clear multiple times. Since we are bootstraps we reached out to our Architects, they are two brothers, Amit Bhatia & Aditya Bhatia. They have delivered amazing designs.
12. What have been your biggest challenges and learning so far?
We have always been good with people and our background has always been customer centric. Managing people is the world’s hardest task however we have been successful till now.
13. Are you married, single or in a relationship?
Married
14. What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?
Meditations
15. What is your favorite food & holiday destination?
White Sauce Pasta | Mashobra/Tattapani/ Lansdown
16.Whom do you consider your idol or biggest motivator?
Idol: Vladimir Putin| Motivator: Adam Neumann
17.What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
That’s the Lack of opportunity one has, otherwise everyone would have been an entrepreneur. People have the habit to take shortcuts and end up doing a job. Easy money dropping on every month first week however this does not last for long, so again you are hunting for another company in which you can sell your skills at a better price, we should first see how our skills can grow. In most of the jobs you deliver what you already know, ask yourself a question “What did I learn in these last five years working for an XXX Company” if you find answers you go ahead and if you don’t that’s something you are on the employer’s owners. Create your niche in this incarnation so next time………….
18. If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
I shall be the same a Recruitment Professional who is making the organizations grows by your own effort. I am sure this is a thankless job we are into, however you understand people better than any other profession. This time doing it differently we can make a tool to bridge the gap between a job seeker and an employer or turning them into an entrepreneur. Making them believe in themselves.
19. How has being an entrepreneur affected your family & Social life?
It has affected however it happened too late in my case. I would have done this sometime earlier.
20. Anything, you would like to say to our readers or upcoming entrepreneurs?
Ideate well knowing your own limits. I see no business dying without funds. Our business process should be well aligned with our goals of achievement to human capital. If operationally and logically the business is running you will make money out of it or try raising funds.
21.Tell us something about your education & family background.
I completed my MBA HR and specialized in Human Capital.
22. What is your USP which makes it unique & different from other start-ups in similar domains?
This is all about people and atmosphere we provide to our coworkers. Everyone feels motivated and also concentrate in their own business. Many of the coworking spaces are not built with a thought. We have designed the space with a thought. Given different themes to places, used elements to favour the walls and colors. Motivational quotes written on the walls where people get a physiological effect.
23. What do you think is the biggest threat to the success of small businesses & Start-ups today?
People should have the ability to maintain and grow their SME/Startups. To stay motivated you need Cash flows, motivating your team, implement a sound marketing strategy, team efforts and Taxation. All should be tuned to your goals.
24. Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?
It has been 5 Months and we have achieved a break even in the actual months. We have proved our capability by providing a space to SME/Startups and they all like the way we take care of them. We do have meet ups where collaboration is done on a glass of Beer or Wine we don’t have boundaries.
